Anand, a Global Graduate '22 at Volvo Cars, is renowned for his fervor for machine learning and artificial intelligence. Formerly a Software Engineer II in the PowerMax Replication and Cloud team at Dell EMC, he holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, and a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of St Andrews, Scotland.
During the academic year 2021-2022, Anand served as the Postgraduate Sustainability Representative for the School of Computer Science, UoStA. Beyond his technical contributions at Dell EMC, he played a pivotal role in enhancing employee engagement as a member of the PowerMax University Relations team and PowerMax Innovation Network, holding leadership positions.
Anand's diverse experiences include involvement in multiple start-up ventures, having initiated three of his own. Engaging actively in esteemed professional bodies such as IET, IEEE, IEEE CS, ACM, and Internet Society, he has assumed voluntary leadership positions, showcasing his strong leadership skills within these organizations.
Apart from his coding prowess, Anand is an avid shutterbug. His technical interests revolve around the explainability and ethics of AI, adapting AI for cyber-security, and exploring advances in blockchain, cloud, and distributed computing technologies. His ultimate aspiration is to independently develop an intelligent HCI system that tailors an operating system to the user.
